Haruhi ED: Second Raid

First, the artist link:

If any of you have played or seen Ar Tonelico, this is the amazing artist who did the artwork.

Anwyay, rant time, chock full of linkness. Once again beaten to the punch by teh dave, I will resign myself to posting a fairly lengthy note about the background to this awesome piece of animation. First off, you can find a DVD rip here. Next, a quick background on the entire special ED.

Hints of a super special ED came out a long while ago on Kyoto Animation's Haruhi website where staff members posted regular diary entries regarding the work. Around the release of their 3rd DVD, something big was going to appear in the final disk. KyoAni then suddenly released the roughs of the entire planned Haruhi Dance, along with lyrics to the full song (To view the entire thing, first click "守れます," then "コンテページ").

After the usual fanboy drooling and pledges to tape metric tons worth of tape worth of footage of groups of otaku doing the entire dance (and almost noone doing it, since the movement descriptions were either vague or cryptic in that JP moonlanguage way), things slowly settled down. Until a few weeks later when KyoAni finally declared that it had gotten the Dream Team back together and were going to fully animate the ED for release with the final disk of Oharuhi-sama's epic saga.

After watching it, of course, I was wowed. The amount of time and effort put into this 1:30 clip was spectacular. Still, there are a few things that I would like to point out. Wasn't the entire five minute song supposed to be animated? And needs more Yuki.

Also, I find it necessary to note that in the midst of writing this post, I managed to spill beer over my logitech wireless keyboard. Great fun was had trying to figure out what the heck I was trying to type at the time.
