Comic Market 74 - Part 2 Doujin Games

CAUSE I LIKE DOUJIN GAMES AND STUFFCAUSE I LIKE DOUJIN GAMES AND STUFF

I was supposed to type this up yesterday (not during work, really, I do tons of it... at work) however nobody expects the stomach bug, much like the Spanish Inquisition. However, instead of being tortured with true torturous implements like the COMFY CHAIR or the CUSHIONS, I was given a light sentence of being constrained to my bed and toilet all day. That combined with one of my favorite resources, DoujinGame.com, having a month hiatus has led to a sort of drought in links for this year. Luckily, I am OCD enough to scour the net for new information, so onward with the blogging!

Note: Comiket is now instituting a mandatory baggage checkpoint for all attendees of Comic Market 74 due to multiple threats that the organizers have received. A sad sad day for the otaku community when they can't even be safe from their own.

Doujin Game Roundup

Comic Market edges ever slowly closer and those of us who are stuck here in the States curse those who can attend this huge event. And while some of us are looking forward to the huge amount of porn that's coming out of this otaku mecca, I'm looking forward to something completely different (usually): Doujin Games (同人ゲームズ).

Doujin games have really advanced in the past few years. With the release of Tsukihime, Melty Blood, and Eternal Fighter Zero, we saw a huge jump in the complexity, quality, and popularity of these games. In fact, when I actually visited the games section during day 3 of Comiket 69 (2005), I saw the huge lines for the (previously) doujin circles TypeMoon and French Bread (フランスパン).

Anyway, since Comiket 73 is coming up, I decided to add to my weekly lineup a Doujin Game Roundup. So, let's see what I've found this time...
